How to Go Vegan (Even while traveling)!

I'm currently in the process of transitioning to a vegan lifestyle. While I'm not all the way there yet, I have come up with some tips to help you begin your transition as well. I began my transition to veganism while I was traveling. It may seem daunting but with a little motivation it can be the best choice you'll make in your life!
1. Start slowly. Very few people I know can cut things out cold turkey and make that last. If you want sustainable results, try cutting out one animal product from your diet every week. Start with the ones you like the least. For me, I started out with cheese because I rarely eat it, continued to meat and am now beginning to cut out other dairy products and finally, eggs. Make it easy on yourself and don't expect perfection.
2. Educate yourself. It's hard to want to do something for the long term if you don't have solid reason behind why it's important. Start with watching documentaries, YouTube videos and reading. Knowledge is power, my friends. Here is a list of my favorite media to check out.
Documentaries:
-Cowspiracy
-Forks Over Knives
-Food Inc.
-Veganism
YouTube:
-101 Reasons to Go Vegan
-Vegan Activist's Channel
Books:
-80/10/10 by Dr. Doug Grahm
-The Plant Powered Way by Rich Roll and Julie Piatt
These are just a sample of a large amount of vegan information out there. If health, ethics or the environment concern you, going vegan really just makes sense.
3. Enjoy the process. Look up vegan restaurants in your area and take yourself out for a nice meal. Bake a vegan cake or cookies and add some Coconut Bliss ice cream on top. Don't take yourself so seriously and enjoy the abundance that veganism has to offer.
